Walking around the world giving a heart pumping good time right to your soul!
Greetings! The name is Joel Dickerson, but you can call me Joel. I’m a stage and screen actor and I really don’t mind walking to the edge of the earth to find some bit of life, some soul. I come from the Sandusky waters of Tiffin, Ohio where I graduated from Heidelberg University and I love travelling and learning about this great, green earth. I love Japanese cinema. I’m not sure the root of this affection, but it runs deep. I have evidence to believe it began with the discovery of the Power Rangers. I’m now living in Tokyo, Japan and I’m busier than ever and loving my life here!! The most important thing you can do on this planet is keep discovering yourself. And remember to be nice to people! Lastly, my favorite Ninja Turtle is Mikey. Pizza Time!

A sketch I wrote and directed and acted in. Just a little harmless fun. But maybe think twice about your cell phone in Japan! Also did the Japanese sub-titles for this one. Enjoy!
Here, I am reporting for this travel show around Tokyo’s neighboring prefectures. If you’re planning a trip to Japan, this really does provide some amazing locations. Definitely worth checking out!
Got to hang out in a ninja house and ride around in a rickshaw! Hey everyone! Line is cool, you should join!
When the summer time comes and you sweat profusely through every pore in your body, wear this shirt to prevent any pit stains or sticky situations. Scientifically proven to make you feel good!
I’ve been hanging out with these dudes who love Dragon Force and Gamma Ray…. The most fun I had making something in a long time!
Do you like Yokai Watch? Here’s a CM I did for the popular brand! Shinhatsubai YEAH!
When Charles’ sister suddenly goes missing, he embarks on an absurd quest to find her and return things to the way they used to be.
A short film I was lucky enough to be a part of created for the Sanuki Story Project. Directed by Eiji Uchida and I got to act alongside the lovely and talented Tomoko Hayakawa!
Poking a little fun at Asian stereo-types in this installment of The Banana Diaries. I’m playing the White Guy, but you call him Bill. It’s fine.
I got my undies tugged on a lot. Bullies.
Sliced! was a short film we did for the 48hr film fest. We were up for 2 days writing and shooting and editing this bad boy. We were contemplating an alternative title to the tune of “Pizza Turds”
They gave me a cup of water and some chips and told me they were oyster crackers. I was supposed to improv the thing and say how delicious the oyster crackers were. They didn’t give me any chili.
A commercial I did in Indiana. I wish they would have filmed me falling off that treadmill.
I did this feature film in Pittsburgh. I had a blast. The blooper reel is almost as long as the film!

The Blue Hearts
A man can be destroyed, but never defeated.
Knock him down three times and he’ll explode like a hurricane.
A life without revelation is no life at all. What you need to do is move from reason that observes to reason that acts.
A persistent, inward-moving spirit that’s filled with a pliant, youthful sort of curiosity.
Time weighs down on you like an old, ambiguous dream. You keep on moving, trying to slip through it. But even if you go to ends of the earth, you won’t be able to escape it. Still, you have to go there—to the edge of the world—There’s something you can’t do unless you go there.
Our vulnerability is all our insensitivity. And it’s gonna be the death of us, just you wait and see.
You’d think that God wouldn’t be so hard, when you see all the children running in the back yard.
